Inspiration:

After a visit to the Royal Birmingham Society Of Artists Exhibition in 2001 I decided to explore the area of St Pauls, Birmingham nearby.

I soon discovered steps leading down to the canal towpaths of the Birminham and Fazeley Canal.

A little walk along the towpath took me to Farmer's Bridge Locks.

The locks made an interesting composition with the railway arches leading to Snow Hill Station and the Birmingham Post Office Tower as a backdrop.
