Retro Gallery
The tone of this website has a nostalgic feel, whether it be Luminaries or Steam Railways in its heyday.
It is a pleasure for me, the Artist to reflect on the canvas some past influential people and events in life gone by.

Tapestry of Life Solo Exhibition (2005)
TAPESTRY OF LIFE EXHIBITION was held and hosted by Warwick Studios Gallery in Royal Leamington Spa in 2005 Remember 20th century Britain? The days of snowy, sometimes foggy or even smoggy winters with all the smoke from open fires released into the atmosphere., There was a simplicity about life then and a community spirit. Leaving your front door unlocked without fear of being burgled. No health and safety and security issues to worry about. Smoky public houses and children playing in the streets with freedom and innocence. These are some of the elements Kevin with his love of nostalgia, has tried to capture on the canvas. Up to the late 1960s TV was in black and white, therefore it seems rather apt for him to have painted these images in monochrome/black and white. The Exhibition was highly successful with a sell out of his original paintings. A wonderful evening was had by all and it was a pleasure for him to meet so many art lovers in the process. ALL IMAGES ARE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS AND FOR SALE WHERE INDICATED. GICLEE PRINTS ARE FOR SALE ON ALL IMAGES. SIZE 16IN X 12IN

The Warwick Collection
Warwick is a medieval town steeped in deep history dating back to the 10th century with its iconic Castle as its main focus. Wandering around the historic Castle and ancient buildings nearby gave me a feeling of TIMELESS BEAUTY. This is what I have tried to capture in my oil paintings. In 2009, The MITCHELL GALLERY based in Church Street, Warwick UK commissioned me, the Artist, to create a collection of monochrome oil paintings depicting Warwick's famous historical buildings in an atmospheric mood, mostly at night and after recent rainfall. After successful solo exhibitions hosted by the Gallery in 2009 and 2012, the Gallery continued to promote the Collection and showcased them permanently as part of the Gallery Exhibitions. This resulted in further sales purchased by art lovers who visited the Gallery, including original paintings, framed embellished black and white and sepia coloured prints and black and white greeting cards. During this time I had the pleasure to meet and share my artwork with many of these art lovers, especially on the annual Victorian evenings at the end of November, until the Gallery's closure in April 2018. When in historic Warwick, why not visit the Thomas Oken tea rooms. Website https://thomasokentearooms.co.uk/ The tea rooms are depicted on my painting entitled The Court House ALL IMAGES ARE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS AND FOR SALE OR SOLD WHERE INDICATED. QUALITY PRINTS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE IN BLACK AND WHITE AND SEPIA COLOUR. GREETING CARDS OF EACH IMAGE WITH ENVELOPES ARE FOR SALE CONTACT THE ARTIST.

Vanishing World Solo Exhibition (2008)
VANISHING WORLD SOLO EXHIBITION was held and hosted by Warwick Studios Art Lounge Gallery in Royal Leamington Spa during 2008. The exhibition tried to capture elements of life in the 20th century which have now sadly vanished. Art lovers picked up on these themes and how it brought back memories of life in 20th century Britain and how much of it has disappeared now. I was Resident Artist at the Gallery from 2006 to 2008 and created many paintings at the gallery leading up to the Exhibition in 2008. In the meantime I had the pleasure of sharing his artwork with art lovers and it was a pleasure to meet them. Working in collaboration with Warwick Studios, the Vanishing World Exhibition was highly successful, with a virtual sell out of original oil paintings. ALL IMAGES ARE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS AND FOR SALE AS INDICATED. PRINTS ARE AVAILABLE ON ALL IMAGES. SIZE 16IN X 12IN
