Standard Splendour (Greeting Card by Medici Society Ltd. 1996 and Press/Media)

standard splendour (another copy)version1

The Inspiration:

(freehand and painted in oils)

I have owned a Triang ready to run oo gauge model locomotive of the Riddles 2-6-2  3MT tank from the 1960s.

Having seen one on the Cambrian Railway in the mid 1960s near Barmouth in Wales, this was my inspiration to capture the Locomotive in oils in a Welsh setting.

Standard 3MT 2-6-2T no 82020 is ready to depart with a passenger train from Machynlleth Station in the mid 1960s with a mixture of Great Western and LMS coaches. This ‘look’ was a familiar scene towards the end of the steam era.

Kevin is supporting the 82045 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE TRUST based in Bridgnorth, UK., by promoting the sale of Limited Edition Prints from this image.

They approved this image and I, the Artist, have an agreement with the Trust to sell Giclee prints size 16 in x 12in priced at £35 each.

From sale of proceeds 10% will be paid to the Steam Trust.
From sale of proceeds 10% will be paid to Steamtube website.
