(freehand and painted in oils)
Walking along the towpaths of Birmingham's canals I came across this scene.
This is where the Birmingham Canal Navigation meets the Worcester and Birmingham Canal.
Looking towards Brindleyplace.
This area called Gas Street Basin was redeveloped in the 1990s.
Filming for the TV program Crossroads took place in this location along with Take Me High, starring Cliff Richard.
This image of Gas Street Basin appears in the Birmingham Art Book (page 41) published in July 2022 and endorsed by celebrity Brummies Dame Julie Walters, Frank Skinner, Ruby Turner, Jasper Carrott, Josie Lawrence, Toyah Wilcox and Benjamin Zephaniah.
