Portrait of Ray Thomas

The Inspiration:

(freehand and painted in oil pastels)

One of the rare rock musicians who plays the flute.

His playing is haunting and distinctive and is an integral part of the Moody Blues sound.

Ray used to play Harmonica and Saxophone as well.

His voice has a distinctive Welsh flavour and I love his songs with the Moodies and his two solo albums in 1975 and 1976.
